Happy Singles Awareness Day!

Today is Valentine’s Day! Traditionally this day is notable with roses, chocolates, dinners, day outs, etc. I celebrated the day with Short Messages (SMS) to my friends (Not forgetting Chupana as well). Hehe.

I was busy in the office today when my Boss came and asked me teasingly, if I got a call or a card from anybody. I wondered why she asked me that question. Then she continued “You must get a Call because today is Valentines Day. You have to celebrate!” Hehe. I had no word to say. I wanted to tell her what If I didn’t have anybody on my own. Do I still enjoy myself!

A girl asked me if I had considered a date for tonight. I said No!! She mocked at me. Perhaps she was thinking that I was cowardly or rather untruthful.

I asked my friend If he wished his girlfriend ‘Happy Valentines day’.. He gave a funny reply “I would rather celebrate Christmas day!” Hehe. I thought why Christmas day. Perhaps he was having in his mind that Valentines Day is famous for Christians only. I didn’t fall out with him because I didn’t have any Idea about the truth behind it.

So later on, I searched wikipedia. And I came across this interesting thing that caught my eyes. It is something called ‘Singles Awareness Day’ (SAD?) which is celebrated on 14th February. This is a substitute to Valentines Day for people who are not involved in a Romantic Relationship; people like us. And it says that single people gather and celebrates this day to celebrate their single status.

I felt glad knowing the fact that you don’t have to worry on this day. You have an alternative. Hehe. Anyway, if you are single, embarrassed and want to get in to a relationship, this is the number. Call (Number Removed up on Request)! Happy Valentines Day!
